Condition & Grading – How We Grade Our Jerseys

At Footsters, we value transparency. When you buy a secondhand football jersey, you should know exactly what you are getting.

Therefore, we grade all our jerseys on a scale from 1/10 to 10/10, taking into account the jersey's overall condition, wear, prints, stitching, and any flaws or missing parts.

Below you can see what the different grades mean.

Our Grading Scale

Grade Condition Description
10/10 New / Like New Brand new with tags (BNWT) or appears completely new without visible signs of wear.
9/10 Excellent Very nice condition. No or almost invisible signs of wear.
8/10 Very Good Nice condition with minor signs of normal wear.
7/10 Good Nice used condition. Minor visible wear, for example on prints, fabric, or stitching.
6/10 Acceptable Clear signs of wear. May have minor flaws, stains, or wear on prints.
5/10 Used Several visible signs of wear and flaws. The jersey is still fully usable.
4/10 Very Used Significant wear and clear flaws or missing parts.
3/10 Worn Heavy wear, for example damaged prints, stains, or small holes.
2/10 Very Worn Extensive wear and several major flaws or missing parts.
1/10 Poor Condition Very heavily worn or damaged. Primarily relevant as a collector's item.

What Do We Look For?

When we grade our jerseys, we check, among other things:

  • Fabric: Wear, pilling, snags, and holes.

  • Prints: Wear, cracks, or peeling on player prints, numbers, and sponsors.

  • Stitching: Loose threads, damaged or unraveling seams.

  • Colors: Faded colors or discoloration.

  • Stains: Visible marks or stains on the jersey.

  • General condition: The jersey's overall appearance and signs of wear.
